Coming to Columbia Arts on June 23rd, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.
Al-Andalus Ensemble is lead by oudist Tarik Banzi. The Ensemble is known for exploring a creative fusion that etches a fine line between the exquisite and raw, and the passionate and powerful.
The ensembles artists soulfully merge classical, jazz, and contemporary music with musical traditions from the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.
Joined by Grammy award winning violinist Charlie Bisharat and wife guitarist Julia Banzi along with vocalists and contemporary dancers, Al-Andulus Ensemble is a World-Chamber group that moves gracefully between the classical and modern.
