Living Magically, Acting Practically
September 14, 2010
The Role of Deep Ecology, Ancient Wisdoms, and Outdoor Adventure in the Modern World
A Presentation by Dr. Jon Turk

A presentation by Dr. Jon Turk, master storyteller, environmentalist, extreme adventurer, and author of The Raven's Gift.
Join Jon on a forty year journey ...
traversing steamy jungles, the high arctic, and the Gobi, and following Stone Age mariners who paddled ice-choked oceans in dug-out canoes.
On lonely and stormy seas ...
Jon explores the value of living magically in this internet crazed, globally warmed world. Our society teaches us that music, art, dance, and spirituality are OK, --- after we get our work done. Swirling in a mid-ocean whirlpool in arctic seas, or battling pack ice from the North Pole, Jon realizes that survival rests on shamanic wisdoms and deep connectivity with nature.
In classic storytelling fasion...
Jon brings us the parallel voices of Moolynaut, a Siberian shaman, Oleg the hunter; and Kutcha the Raven, with wide black wings and the power to heal.
