This edgy and modern art exhibition “Urban Art, A Cultural Exploration” is a show of unique artistry and inspiration and will be on display in the Center's art gallery through July 31, 2011.
With works created by artists from throughout the United States, the exhibit will feature a large range of artistic styles that powerfully express the artists’ visions of our country's youth culture and its relationship with industrial/urban decay.
The works also explore the themes of personal relationships, music, technology, and whimsy in their quest to convey both the inspiring and challenging aspects of living in the urban landscape of modern culture.
Artist Reception
You are cordially invited to participate in the artist reception on Friday, July 1 from 6 to 8pm.
Special First Friday Events
First Friday will feature hip-hop dancing, a chalk art contest, and live graffiti mural art by Redbull event artist Doug Forrester. The Center for the Arts will also raffle off windsurfing lessons and rental.
Dedicated to Forest Andrews
"Urban Art, A Cultural Exploration" is dedicated to Forest Andrews, an artist and student who recently passed away. His work will be shown in the lobby of the gallery.
