School's Out/Art's In - Venetian Maskmaking

November 13, 27 and December 4, 11 (CAT bus leaves from May St. Elementary)

November 14, 28 and December 5, 12 (CAT bus leaves from Westside Elementary)


About the Class 

Learn the art of mask making through the implementation of 13thcentury Venetian maskmaking techniques!  Students will brainstorm to come up with outrageous mask ideas and learn to blend everyday household materials with proper Venetian style paper mache, resulting in a unique and sturdy mask to wear on any mask-worthy occasion!  Students will also learn the history of mask making, cultural significance, and few trade secrets of paper mache use in the theater industry! 

Transportation & Snack
Columbia Arts offers pick up and drop off via the CAT bus at two locations. Tuesdays the CAT bus picks up and drops off from May St. Elementary and Wednesdays they pick up and drop off at Westside Elementary. Parents are also welcome to drop off and pick up their children at the Arts Center.  

A healthy snack will also be provided to all students. 

Transportation and snack are included in the price of the class!
