An Homage to Mike's Ice Cream
By Julie Jindal
Oh little house of multi hue
Hidden on Oak, but in full view
Of those who crave the flavors you share
Fat and calories? We do not care!
A baby scoop for the healthy
Banana split for the wealthy
To taste a bit of summer sun
Make your choice—now there's the fun
A chocolate lover claims her flavor
And coffee fiends have theirs to savor
Raspberry Cheesecake tastes illicit
Cookie Dough feels complicit
Galaxy is far out, it's true
And Huckleberry turns tongues blue
Fresh Banana brings a dimple
Vanilla when you want it simple
If milk and cream will make you fart
Fear not, for fruit sorbet is part
Of a freezer case that's smooth and clean
And the heart of Hood River’s downtown scene.
